Before, during and late in World War II, we follow the race for nuclear supremacy.
Werner Heisenberg, the German Nobel Prize-winner in Physics, is tasked with building the Nazis a nuclear bomb and needs heavy water to do so, which is only produced in Norway. Meanwhile the Norwegian Resistance, lead by Norwegian chemistry professor Leif Tronstad, plans to blow up the factory that produces the heavy water.
